Ginny Worley invites readers to embark on an emotional journey through her deeply personal and powerful poetry, Poems from the Edge. This deeply personal anthology offers a close look at Ginny’s battles with depression, hopelessness, and trauma.
Ginny started writing as a way to communicate her deepest feelings and thoughts. Ginny confronts her inner turmoil with incredible bravery to make sense of the vivid and terrifying past trauma that has plagued her for a long time. Her poems take readers on a harrowing journey through the depths of her despair. Yet, with each poem, readers witness the gradual illumination of her path as the faint glimmer of hope pierces through the darkness.
“Poems from the Edge” is not just a collection of verses; it’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of poetry to effect change. Ginny Worley’s work serves as a beacon of hope for all who have walked their personal dark tunnels, offering a glimmer of light to guide them toward healing and renewal.
Ginny Worley was born and raised mostly in a rural community in Alexandria, Kentucky. She left the community in 1975 to serve in the United States Air Force (USAF). Ginny spent most of her enlistment in Tucson, Arizona, with a brief stint near Warner Robins, Georgia. She served as a flight surgeon medic for the USAF for seven years and was honorably discharged. Following her USAF tenure, Ginny pursued a nursing career, earning a bachelor’s degree. Some of the most impactful experiences that influenced her writing journey stemmed from early childhood marked by abuse and neglect, hence her brave decision to leave that tumultuous environment and join the USAF. While this decision brought Ginny growth, it also exposed her to traumatic experiences that compounded her struggles, leading to severe depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Today, Ginny calls Hartwell, Ohio, her home, residing in a retirement community. In her retirement, Ginny cherishes the companionship of her dog, Einstein, a Beagle/German Shepherd mix.
You can find Poems From The Edge on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other major bookstores, and is also currently available in different formats.
