Partnership with Wellness House of Annapolis supports counseling, connection and care for families affected by cancer

ANNAPOLIS, Md., Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A cancer diagnosis reaches far beyond the person receiving treatment. It can reshape daily life for partners, children, caregivers and entire families. The Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation is helping sustain support for those families through its role as Presenting "Legacy of Hope" Partner of Wellness House of Annapolis' 2026 Great Fall Fundraiser.

Wellness House provides free mental health counseling, support groups, therapeutic services, wellness programming and educational opportunities for adults, children and families affected by cancer. The Foundation's leadership support helps sustain access to those services at a time when the organization's membership has tripled over the past decade.

"Our Foundation is honored to serve as the Presenting 'Legacy of Hope' Partner for the Great Fall Fundraiser and to support an organization whose work brings people together, restores hope, and demonstrates the power of community," said Brian Giese, Co-Founder, Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation.

The partnership reflects the Foundation's belief in supporting organizations that bring people together and restore hope through meaningful community work. Wellness House's model complements medical treatment by addressing the emotional, social and family-wide challenges that often accompany a cancer diagnosis.

"We are tremendously grateful to the Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation for engaging in this significant level of support to accommodate the tremendous growth of our membership, tripling over the past decade," said Mary Jermann, President and CEO of Wellness House of Annapolis.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Wellness House has impacted more than 5,600 people and offers more than 60 programs, in person and virtually, at no cost. Its Great Fall Fundraiser will be held Friday, October 30, at the Fluegel Alumni Center at the U.S. Naval Academy.
